Our primary research target is the understanding of materials structure-activity relationship in catalysis and energy storage. The target is supported by three fundamental pillars: Materials discovery, reaction engineering and operando spectroscopy.
Materials discovery
We design synthetic methodologies to achieve uniform active species on the materials surface. We use exchangeable ligands to control the electronic structure of specific single-site metals.
We use the oxide surface to stabilize single-site and to achieve the desired coordination environment.
Reaction Engineering
We search for new reaction and process for transformation of natural gas and biomass. We are interested in C1 chemistry, in particular methane activation. We look forward to different energy storage systems to replace the use of Li.
Operando spectroscopy
We apply a range of operando characterization techniques in order to understand active site behaviours and reaction mechanism.
